Division of  Physical Properties
Purpose/
Activities
  •  Sharing of knowledge and provision of opportunities for discussion
     about the chemical engineering physical properties
  •  Making a database of the chemical engineering physical properties
     to meet the needs from members of SCEJ

Fluid & Particle Processing Division
Purpose/ Activities
  • Enhancement in the activities of particle-fluid processing and thermal-mass transfer from the view point of Chemical Engineering, and supplement of their useful information with promotion, as a related research group in SCEJ
Research themes
  • Thermal-mass transfer engineering - combined  with phenomena of fluid mixing, heat transfer, mass transfer and chemical reaction
  • Mixing and agitation devices and related phenomena
  • Fundamental to application in fluidization,  its phenomena and subject
  • Gas-liquid and three-phase dispersion systems in bubble columns and related phenomena
  • Powder processing and its related phenomena

Division of Thermal Engineering
Purpose/ Activities
  • Establishment of common intelligence network on the methodology of thermal engineering and its transfer to future
  • Advancement of thermal engineering in new fields and collaboration with other divisions

  • Combustion, plasma processing, heat transfer and mass transfer

Division of Separation Processes
Purpose/ Activities
  • To contribute to the development of domestic and international academia, technology and industry concerned with the next-generation separation engineering for the separation process positioned as a core of basic technologies in chemical engineering.
  • To provide opportunities for researchers and engineers sharing the studying method of separation to collaborate on research or to develop their knowledge.

Division of Chemical Reaction Engineering
Purpose/ Activities
  • We contribute to the design of rational and/or advanced reaction systems on the basis of the consecutive theory ranging from nano- to macro-scales in various fields of technology utilizing conversion of materials.

Division of Systems Information and Simulation Technologies
Purpose/ Activities
  • The SIS division provides relevant programs for SCEJ memberswho share interests in systems, information, and simulationtechnologies, especially in the analysis, design, and control ofprocess and management systems. The methodology for clearlydescribing thought process in engineering and business, thetechnology of extracting useful information for decision makingfrom a large amount of operation data, and the mechanismthat supports reasonable decision making are investigated.Further, SIS division encourages educators to focus more on thesesubjects and supports excellence in teaching practices.

Division of Energy
Purpose/Activities
  • We are under environmental and energy limitations/
    restrictions in global scales, possible fates of which
    could be irreparable climate change and depletion of
    energy resources, respectively. Innovation in energy
    technologies is thus vital for our society to shift to a
    sustainable one.Division of Energy Engineering is
    contributed by engineers/scientistswho are working in
    fields of energy conversion, storage, transportation,
    management and economy. This division has primary
    mission to provide the division members with
    opportunities to promote their R&D, publication,
    educational works and other activities through
    collaboration among division members and people
    from other divisions and academic/engineering societies
    as well. Division of Energy Engineering also has a
    mission to represent The Society of Chemical Engineers,
    Japan for activities related to energy technologies,
    and therefore involves the following sections as
    groups of experts.

Division of Chemical Plant Material Engineering
Purpose/ Activities
  • Planning and operation of academic conferences, symposia, seminars, workshops, domestic and foreign information gathering and information exchange between members to promote the increase and diffusion of science and technology on materials (construction materials, corrosion-resistant materials, functional materials, etc.) applied to the devices and equipments of the chemical industry and related sectors
  • Publication of data collections, technical guidelines and reference books
  • Contribution of special topics or related articles on chemical plant materials in SCEJ magazine or other SCEJ activities.
